Alice Jean Vale

Obituary Alice Jean Vale age 87 died at home on Wednesday, December 14, 2011. Born Alice Karamatic in Aberdeen, WA on November 28, 1924 to Antone and Katie Karamatic, she grew up in Gig Harbor, WA where she graduated from high school and went on to graduate from the St. Joseph School of Nursing as a registered nurse. Alice married Peter Vlahovich (Vale) in 1944 and they made their home in Tacoma. A devoted wife and homemaker, she was a past president of the St. Patrick's Mothers Club and Bellarmine Philomathea, and had been active with the Tacoma Art Museum. She worked for 46 years as a volunteer at Tacoma General Hospital (Multicare) until her death. Alice is survived by her daughter Susan Vale and son-in-law John Fleck of Franklin, MO. She was preceded in death by Peter V. Vale her husband of 39 years and son Peter Vale II. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 22nd at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. A reception will be held after the mass at the church. Memorial donations to the American Heart Association suggested.
