Alan Roy Douglas Lomheim

Obituary Alan R.D. Lomheim 6/3/1931 to 5/10/2007 Alan passed away due to multiple medical complications. Alan was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. As a young lad of 14, Alan learned to play the drums and joined the Royal Canadian Legion Band. He then learned to play the pipes and continued in the band. Alan then joined the R.C.A.F. and played with the Air Force Pipe Band. In 1964, when he left the air force, he took the family to Tacoma, WA, where he joined the Clan Gordon Pipe Band, and later became the pipe major. Alan kept his association with the Scottish Society after leaving the Clan Gordon. Alan married Dixie-Ann McKay in 1953. Alan is survived by his wife, three sons, Neil Scott and Brian, daughters-in-law, five grandchildren, and his sister Joyce Demers and family of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. A memorial will be held at a later date.
