Adolph Cyril Blaise Waiss

January 1, 1970 — October 21, 2005

Obituary Adolph (Bud) Cyril Blaise Waiss Adolph (Bud) Cyril Blaise Waiss was born on February 3, 1916 in Loma, Nebraska, one of 14 children. He went to be with our Lord on October 21, 2005. Bud married Agnes Novak in 1937. They lived on a farm near Loma for 15 years. On September 7, 1952 they sold all their possessions, packed up their 5 children, and moved to Washington state, looking for a better and hopefully easier life. In 1953, they moved to Fife where they lived together for 44 years and added two more children to their family. They celebrated 60 years of marriage together. Bud only had an eighth grade formal education but was self-educated and extremely intelligent and alert to the very end. In 1953 he bought a fuel business which he named Bud's Fuel Oil. He was sole owner/operator until his retirement in 1978. The fuel oil business allowed him a lot of time off in the summer which was perfect for him because of his love for gardening. He had an amazing yard with lots of flowers and vegetables. He was especially known for his lovely display of over 200 begonias on the side of the house that many would stop to view. Bud was a true Catholic. His faith never wavered and was a wonderful comfort to him in the years following the death of his beloved wife in 1997. He so wanted to be with his Savior and has now truly found the peace he searched for. Bud and Agi were the foundation of a large extended family and are survived by sons Greg (ThuLe), Ben (Marie Jose), Dwayne (Irena), Michael (Anita); daughters Rosalyn Crist, Mary (Dan) Reetz and Kathie (George) Rasmussen; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Bud was a faithful member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church for 65 years. Rosary will be recited Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at 7:00 pm at the Gaffney Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at 11:00 am at the St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church. O Little Therese of the Child Jesus, please pick me a rose from the heavenly gardens and send it to me as a message of love. Please leave online condolences at www.gaffneyfuneralhome.com . Arrangements by Gaffney Funeral Home 253-572-6003.
