Obituary Adelyn Barde Adelyn "Addie" Barde our wife, mom, and Grummy Sweetie Pie passed away in her hometown of Tacoma on October 8, 2013; she was 87 years old. Addie was born in Tacoma on July 4, 1926. She was a proud Stadium High School graduate and attended the University of Washington where she met her husband of 66 years, Warren. Addie's number one priority was her growing family; the biggest thrill was celebrating life events with the family, especially Sunday night dinners. Addie enjoyed helping others through her community involvement. Her favorite organizations all revolved around helping youth and young adults, such as, Mary Bridge Children's Hospital, the Boys & Girls Club and she was a longtime member of the Westgate Guild. Addie thoroughly enjoyed her many years in the Daffodilians and was known to many as "Lady Addie". Her religious life centered around Temple Beth El and her gifts to support religious education. She is survived by her husband, Warren; her children, Wendy (Jay) Stricherz, Glen (Mary Jean) Barde, Ross (Karen) Barde; grandchildren, Jodi (C.W.) Herchold, Amy (B.J.) Gavin, Mackenzie Darling, and Jordan Barde; and 5 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, William & Anna Meier; brother, Jordan Meier; and great-grandson, Anderson K. Herchold. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks for the loving care Addie received from her caregivers, Ann, Brittany, Paula and Valerie. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Addie's memory to Temple Beth El's Barde Fund or the Anderson Kolbe Herchold Endowment at the Multicare Health Foundation, P.O Box 5296, Tacoma, WA 98415. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 11, 2013 at 3:00pm at Temple Beth El followed by a reception. Private burial service at Home of Peace Cemetery.
