Obituary Abe Harris Coleman April 29, 1921 ~ May 26, 2015 Abe Harris Coleman was born on April 29, 1921, in Eureka, KS. He moved to Tacoma, WA as a young boy and, after serving his country in the Pacific during WWII, he stayed there the rest of his life. He is survived by daughters, Sara, Eloise, Lorraine, and Jeanette; sons, John, Jim, Bob, Tom, and Steve; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Abe was preceded in death by his wife, Anna; his brother, Sam, and his sister, Goldie; as well as daughter, Barbara; and sons, Sam and Harold. He served in the Army Air Corps, then in the Army National Guard for 32 years, achieving the rank of Command Sergeant Major and was a life-long fan of the Tacoma Rainiers. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 8, 2015 at 10:30am at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church followed by Graveside Services at 2:00pm at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA. A Vigil will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at 7:00pm at Gaffney Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial contributions may be sent to VFW Post 91, where Abe was a member for over 65 years.
