Doris Arlene Krilich

Tacoma

Doris Krilich died on March 29, 2024 after a brief illness. She lived independently until her death at age 97.


Doris Young grew up in Gas City, Indiana with her brother, Bill, and sister, Helen. She attended Ball State University where she received a nursing degree in 1947. She completed her nursing residence at the Puyallup Tribal Hospital in Tacoma, Washington. During this time, she met her future husband, Paul Krilich. They were married 66 years before Paul died in 2016. During her
nursing career, she worked at Tacoma General Hospital, Allenmore Hospital and Allenmore Medical Center for an obstetrician doctor.


Doris was active in her church and volunteered for many charitable causes throughout her lifetime. She was a source of strength to all who knew her and had an infectious laugh shared with family and friends. She is survived by three daughters, Karen Bernett, Stephanie Krilich and Janel Krilich.


A Celebration of Life will be held at Urban Grace Church, 902 Market St., Tacoma, on Saturday, May 4th, at 11:00 a.m
